Officer Commanding (OC)
Sergeant (RAFAC) Derry Ross
As the Officer Commanding (OC), I have the immense privilege of leading the same squadron that took me on as a Cadet many years ago! My main responsibility is guiding my staff team to work towards delivering the “Air Cadet” experience, the very best we can seek to offer.
I’ve accomplished many things that I wouldn’t have done if it wasn’t for the Air Cadets. Even as a Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer (CFAV), there is still so much more that I can work towards!
Adjutant
Sergeant (RAFAC) Sam Lee
I joined the squadron when I was 13 and got given opportunities to do things that I wouldn’t have done in any other organisation. Getting a Gliding Scholarship was my highlight and I’d recommend it to anyone! I progressed into uniform as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer (CFAV) and am now the Adjutant.
As the Adjutant, my main role is to assist the OC with the administration of all Cadets and Staff, and act as the Deputy OC.
Training Officer
Civilian Instructor Carl Richards
I have been at the squadron since January 2019, and I worked my way to Cadet Flight Sergeant in the 5 years I have been there. The Air Cadets gave me lots of opportunities to go Flying and Gliding and I have achieved lots of personal goals and challenged my fears.
I was appointed Training Officer on December 2022 and my main role is to make sure all training is up to date with the staff and cadets and organise the training programme for the cadets to progress with their journey within the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.
